The Kymco Sting 50 was a air-cooled, two-stroke, single cylinder scooter produced by Kymco between 2009 and 2010. Max torque was 1.84 ft/lbs (2.5 Nm) @ 4000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 1.48 HP (1.1 KW) @ 6500 RPM.

The engine was a air cooled air-cooled, two-stroke, single cylinder. A 38.1mm bore x 38.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 49.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a CVT transmission. Power was moderated via the wet, multiplate.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-12 front tire and a 130/70-12 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via disc in the front and a drum in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a monoshock. The Sting 50 was fitted with a 1.4 Gallon (5.30 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 214.07 pounds (97.1 Kg). The wheelbase was 50.98 inches (1295 mm) long.

The 2009 MY Kymco Sting 50 sports an air-cooled, two-stroke, 49cc, single cylinder engine paired to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). It is suitable for the novice and younger among Kymco fans, and comes standard with a front and under-seat storage compartment, a helmet hook, and an instrument cluster with a speedometer, an odometer and fuel gauge. Also, a front disc brake and a rear monoshock suspension make for higher levels in the safety and comfort departments.
