The engine was a air cooled air-cooled, two-stroke, single cylinder. A 38.1mm bore x 38.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 49.0 cubic centimeters.

The bike has a CVT transmission. Power was moderated via the wet, multiplate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70-12 front tire and a 130/70-12 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via disc in the front and a drum in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a monoshock. The Sting 50 was fitted with a 1.4 Gallon (5.30 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 214.07 pounds (97.1 Kg). The wheelbase was 50.98 inches (1295 mm) long.

It is suitable for the novice and younger among Kymco fans, and comes standard with a front and under-seat storage compartment, a helmet hook, and an instrument cluster with a speedometer, an odometer and fuel gauge.
