The Yamaha WR125X was a single cylinder, four-stroke Enduro motorcycle produced by Yamaha between 2009 and 2017. Max torque was 9.0 ft/lbs (12.2 Nm) @ 8000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 14.62 HP (10.9 KW) @ 9000 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 52.0mm bore x 58.6mm stroke result in a displacement of just 124.7 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a single overhead cams (sohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet, multipate.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 110/70-17 front tire and a 140/70-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic forks while the rear was equipped with a swingarm, link suspension, monoshock. The WR125X was fitted with a 2.25 Gallon (8.50 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 279.99 pounds (127.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 56.3 inches (1430 mm) long.

The smallest of the WRs, the 2012 WR125R is a great way used by Yamaha to show to the world that small-displacement is indeed a great class which should not be easily overlooked. The full-size enduro bike was engineered to handle pretty much anything you might trow at it and keep on going just the same after the asphalt ends, through the gravel-paved roads and along the forest trails and fire roads.

Fuel injection makes sure the 124.7cc liquid-cooled engine is fed perfectly and will start easily regardless of altitude or temperature. Choosing 21" front and 18" rear wheels is self-explanatory: the 2012 Yamaha WR125R is not a joke. Large-diameter wave rotors provide all the stopping force needed to slow down when the rolling gets too fast.
