The engine was a liquid cooled v2, four-stroke. A 108.0mm bore x 71.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1301.0 cubic centimeters. The engine featured a 11.5:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

The bike has a 6-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain. Power was moderated via the pasc anti-hopping clutch/ hydraulically operated.

It came with a 120/70-17 front tire and a 180/55-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. abs. radially mounted four-piston brake calipers. in the front and a single disc. abs. two-piston brake caliper. fixed brake disc in the rear. The front suspension was a wp semi-active suspension usd ø 48 mm while the rear was equiped with a wp semi-active suspension monoshock. The 1290 Super Duke GT was fitted with a 5.81 Gallon (22.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 460.77 pounds (209.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 58.35 inches (1482 mm) long.
