The engine was a air cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 56.5mm bore x 49.5mm stroke result in a displacement of just 124.1 cubic centimeters.

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. The final drive was via belt.

It came with a 90/90-18 front tire and a 130/90-15 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The 2000 MY Daelim VL 125 Daystar is a custom-like, Korean-built motorcycle, suitable for young and novice riders, that has, at its heart, an air-cooled, four-stroke, 124cc, single cylinder powerhouse paired to a five-speed manual transmission that can reach a maximum power output of 13 horsepower and 10 Nm of torque.

Also, it has slotted-disc, aluminum wheels, a dual seat, an upside-down telescopic fork, a chromed exhaust system with two mufflers, a mono-shock rear suspension, a front disc brake coupled to a rear drum, analogue instrumentation dials, a round headlight and a blacked-out, steel frame.
