The engine was a air cooled in-line three, four-stroke. A 80.0mm bore x 74.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1115.0 cubic centimeters. The engine featured a 8.0:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 5-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 4.10-18 front tire and a 4.25-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The 1200 was fitted with a 5.15 Gallon (19.50 Liters) fuel tank.

Manufactured for over four years, the Laverda 1200 had an air-cooled, four stroke, 1116cc engine which developed 73 HP at 7500rpm and a torque of 54 Nm at 6000rpm.
