The engine was a Air cooled cooled Four stroke, 45° V-Twin, Twin Cam 88® vibration isolation-mounted Valves Pushrod-operated overhead valves; w/ hydraulic self-adjusting lifters; two valves per cylinder. The engine featured a 8.9:1 compression ratio.

Power was moderated via the Wet Clutch 9-plate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a D402F MT90B16 72H front tire and a D401 150/80B16 71H rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single 292 mm disc 1 piston caliper in the front and a Single 292 mm disc 4 piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Air adjustable forks while the rear was equipped with a Adjustable shock. The FLSTSC Heritage Springer Classic was fitted with a 18.9 Liters / 5.0 US gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 323 kg / 710 lbs. The wheelbase was 1639. mm / 64.5 in long.

Harley Davidson FLSTSC/I Heritage Springer Classic
The second new entry into the Softail clan was
the FLSTC Springer Classic. At the leading edge of the design were a
Springer front fork in the steering head and a wide set of beach bars. Drop
your seat onto the super low 25.9-inch saddle and place your boots on the
spacious floorboards for a classic and comfortable ride. The matching
saddlebags are joined by a vintage style front fender decorated with chrome
tear drops. The buyer could also choose from a variety of solid or two-tone
color combinations.
For years, the Springer® front end has brought many a smile to
the faces of traditionalists everywhere. But dont be mistaken, this is no
ancient architecture. On the road, the leading-link suspension of the Softail®
Springer® Classic provides a premium ride. Moving back, youll find a
beach-style handlebar, wide floorboards, detachable passenger pillion, crossover
exhaust and tombstone taillight. A metal strip with emblem around the tank and a
classic patent badge on the oil tank hold the eyes captive. But roll the
throttle to the Twin Cam 88B engine and suddenly your eyes and the rest of you
are set totally free. You need not be a traditionalist to smile about that.
FXSTS/I Softail® Springer® Classic Model Overview
The FLSTSC/I Springer Classic slides a fat front tire and clean FL fender
between a Springer front end in black powdercoat with a chrome shock and
springs. It's a tough, retro look that's pure Panhead, enhanced by the front-
fender running light, a stamped aluminum tank graphic and wrap-around trim
strip, as well as a vintage-style patent label on the oil tank. The crossover
chrome dual exhaust system hangs long and low on each side of the rear wheel.
The seat features embossed nameplates and a separate passenger pillion that can
be removed easily. There is plenty of style, but loads of function, too. The
Springer front suspension is engineered to deliver an outstanding ride and
precise handling. A Silver Slotted Cast Aluminum disc rear wheel is new. The
standard steel laced front wheel can be replaced with an optional Chrome
Aluminum Profile Laced wheel.
