The KTM 250 SX was a single cylinder, two-stroke cross / motocross motorcycle produced between 2000 and 2019.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, two-stroke. A 66.4mm bore x 72.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 249.0 cubic centimeters. The engine featured a 14.0:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (DOHC).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 5-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain. Power was moderated via the wet, dds multi-disc clutch, brembo hydraulics.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 80/100-21 front tire and a 100/90-19 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc. four-piston calipers. in the front and a single disc. two-piston calipers. in the rear. The front suspension was a wp-usd, aer 48, ø 48 mm while the rear was equiped with a wp shock absorber with linkage. The 250 SX was fitted with a 1.85 Gallon (7.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 209.44 pounds (95.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 58.86 inches (1495 mm) long.

The KTM 250 SX-F was a single cylinder, four-stroke Enduro motorcycle produced by KTM between 2000 and 2019. Claimed horsepower was 55.79 HP (41.6 KW) @ 14000 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 78.0mm bore x 52.3mm stroke result in a displacement of just 249.9 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc clutch / hydraulically operated.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 80/100-21 front tire and a 100/90-19 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc. brake calipers on floating bearings in the front and a single disc. brake calipers on floating bearings in the rear. The front suspension was a wp-usd, aer 48, ø 48 mm while the rear was equipped with a wp shock absorber with linkage. The 250 SX-F was fitted with a 1.85 Gallon (7.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 218.26 pounds (99.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 58.46 inches (1485 mm) long.
2006 KTM 250 SX[edit | edit source]
The 2005 KTM 250 SX received the same chassis and suspension changes as the 125 SX, which means it feels more solid and precise on the track. As with the 125, the 250's shock shaft is changed to flow oil differently, since WP continues to try to keep the two pistons in the shock working separately. Ideally, the second piston should be effective only late in the shock stroke. The fine blade for all those who know what they´re doing. Power to burn over a broadly usable power band, perfectly applied due to the finest chassis technology.
2017 KTM 250 SX[edit | edit source]
The engine of the 250 SX has been known and respected for being the most powerful 2-stroke engine in its class. But we thought the segment could use an extra push and a solid statement: 2-strokes have a future at KTM. Their outstanding power-to-weight ratio, low cost and simplicity see to that. Putting our money where our mouth is, we gave the 250 SX engine an all new architecture with a new shaft arrangement for better mass centralization, a new cylinder with twin-valve controlled power valve, a new counter balance shaft for less engine vibrations, a 5-speed transmission and a hydraulically operated DDS clutch.
2017 KTM 250 SX-F[edit | edit source]
The 2016 KTM 250 SX-F model has better torque and a new smaller engine that is lighter and more powerful. The clutch has been raised as well as the rev limiter, while the seat and handlebar are lower and the footpegs have been mounted back a bit and a bit lower.
