Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a Liquid cooled cooled Four stroke, Testastretta 11° L-Twin, DOHC, 4 Desmodromically actuated valves per cylinder. The engine featured a 13.0:1 compression ratio.

Drive[edit | edit source]

Power was moderated via the Wet, multi-plate clutch with hydraulic control. Self-servo action on drive, slipper action on over-run.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70 - ZR17 Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP front tire and a 200/55 - ZR17 Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2 x 330 mm Semi-floating discs, radially mounted Brembo Monobloc evo M50 4-piston callipers, radial pump with ABS as standard in the front and a Single 245mm disc, 2-piston floating caliper with ABS as standard equipment in the rear. The front suspension was a Ohlins fully adjustable 48 mm usd forks while the rear was equipped with a Progressive linkage with fully adjustable Öhlins monoshock. Aluminum single-sided swingarm. The Monster 1200R was fitted with a 17.5 Liters / 4.6 US gal / 3.8 Imp gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 180 kg / 396,8 lbs. The wheelbase was 1509 mm / 59.4 in long.
