The Junak M10 was a single cylinder, four-stroke Classic motorcycle produced by Junak between 1960 and 1961. It could reach a top speed of 75 mph (120 km/h). Max torque was 20.65 ft/lbs (28.0 Nm) @ 3800 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 18.64 HP (13.9 KW) @ 6000 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a oil & air cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 75.0mm bore x 79.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 349.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a overhead valves (ohv).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 4-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet Multi-plate with cork inserts working in an oil bath.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
Stopping was achieved via Full hub width, of expander shoe type, hand operated in the front and a Full hub width, of expander shoe type, foot operated in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic fork with coil springs and oil damping while the rear was equipped with a Swinging arm sprung on telescopic elements with coil springs and oil damping.. The M10 was fitted with a 4.49 Gallon (17.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 385.81 pounds (175.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 55.79 inches (1417 mm) long.
1960 - 1965 Junak M10[edit | edit source]
In the sixty's the Junak got a few variations - a sidecar, a load crate, a cross version - and had a serious facelift. The headlight got a smooth casing, which was integrated with the suspension fork, got a deeper mudguard, more efficient brakes were introduced, the chain was encapsulated and the exhaust changed. In the beginning it was supposed to be a heavy motorcycle - mainly for the military - with a 500 cm3 engine, but the project was changed and in effect a 350 cm3 class vehicle was created.
