The Piaggio MP3 400 was a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder MASTER, four-stroke, four-valve scooter produced by Piaggio between 2007 and 2014. It could reach a top speed of 88 mph (141 km/h). Max torque was 27.29 ft/lbs (37.0 Nm) @ 5000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 34.06 HP (25.4 KW) @ 7550 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a liquid cooled liquid-cooled, single-cylinder MASTER, four-stroke, four-valve. A 86.4mm bore x 86.4mm stroke result in a displacement of just 398.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a single overhead cams (sohc).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a CVT transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, centrifugal with damper buffers, automatic.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120 / 70 - 12in front tire and a 140 / 70 - 14in rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 240 mm steel discs, 2-piston floating calipers in the front and a single 240 mm steel disc, 2-piston floating caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a parallelogram composed of four aluminum arms supporting two steering tubes, cantilevered suspension while the rear was equipped with a two dual effect hydraulic shocks, four-position spring preload. The MP3 400 was fitted with a 3.2 Gallon (12.11 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 60.98 inches (1549 mm) long.
