The Ducati 996 was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Ducati between 1999 and 2002. It could reach a top speed of 162 mph (260 km/h). Max torque was 73.02 ft/lbs (99.0 Nm) @ 7000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 111.98 HP (83.5 KW) @ 8500 RPM.

The engine was a liquid cooled liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder. A 99.1mm bore x 99.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 996.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, hydraulic.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 190/50 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 220mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Showa adjustable upside-down fork while the rear was equipped with a Showa adjustable monoshock. The 996 was fitted with a 4.49 Gallon (17.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 436.52 pounds (198.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 55.51 inches (1410 mm) long.
