The '''[[Yamaha]] XV500SE''' was a v2, [[four-stroke]] Cruiser [[motorcycle]] produced by [[Yamaha]] between 1983 and 1988. It could reach a top speed of 94 mph (152 km/h). Max [[torque]] was 30.98 ft/lbs (42.0 Nm) @ 7000 RPM. Claimed [[horsepower]] was 48.01 HP (35.8 KW) @ 8000 RPM.  

==Engine==
The engine was a [[air cooled]] v2, four-stroke. A 73.0mm [[bore]] x 59.0mm [[stroke]] result in a [[displacement]] of just 494.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a overhead cams (ohc).  

==Drive==
The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-plate.  

==Chassis==
It came with a 3.00-19 front [[tire]] and a 130/90-16 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a expanding [[brake]] in the rear. The front suspension was a  Telescopic Fork while the rear was equipped with a Twin Shock Variable Preload. The XV500SE was fitted with a 2.91 Gallon (11.00 Liters) fuel tank.

The Yamaha Virago 500 was manufactured from 1983 until 1986, when it was indeed changed to the Virago 535. At this point the monoshock assembly was abandoned in favor of traditional shocks mounted on either side.
