Engine
The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, two-stroke. A 54.0mm bore x 54.5mm stroke result in a displacement of just 124.8 cubic centimeters.

Drive
The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc clutch, hydraulically actuated.

Chassis
It came with a 80/100-21 front tire and a 100/90-19 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc. brake calipers on floating bearings in the front and a single disc. brake calipers on floating bearings in the rear. The front suspension was a  wp-usd, aer 48, ø 48 mm while the rear was equipped with a wp shock absorber with linkage. The 125 SX was fitted with a 1.98 Gallon (7.50 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 192.9 pounds (87.5 Kg). The wheelbase was 58.46 inches (1485 mm) long.

KTM has been serious about 125 cc-class motocross, and this dedication has manifested in the 125 SX for several years now. The changes made by KTM put in production for 2005 have resulted in a greatly improved orange machine. As far as the engine is concerned, KTM left a good thing pretty much alone. It was the most-powerful 125 of 2004 and we expect that to be true in 2005.

The latest 125 SX engine is the most powerful and most competitive engine in its class; a clear statement that KTM is keen on keeping 2-stroke technology at the forefront of development. The secret to their success is an outstanding power-to-weight ratio, low costs and simplicity. This 125cm3 ripper has been developed with the latest KTM engineering know-how and the most advanced technology available.
