Described by author [[David Wright]] as 'the patriarch of [[Harley-Davidson]] dealers', he came from Chico, California where he grew up buying, selling and racing bikes when he had the money. He secured a job with Frank Murray's Harley-Davidson dealership in Sacramento in July 1937 and eventually took it over in 1949. His ability to mix with all levels of riders (from the Harley and Davidson families to [[Hell's Angels]]) helped business and the dealership grew. Despite the chance to take on Japanese and British franchises. Magri stayed loyal to Harley-Davidson, and retired in the early 1980s, aged 72, leaving a large, healthy business behind. | |||
